Item Authoring
Overview Item Authoring is a browser based authoring application that supports question types of IMS QTI specification. Item Authoring application is provided with a digital asset library management and supports 1.2 and 2.0 IMS QTI questions. This application is enriched with digital assets such as Images, Video recordings/ Clippings, Audio recordings and Animations. These assets are supported as part of questions and answers. The Search and Advanced Search engine helps user to search the questions in Item Bank and My Folder. Questions will be searched based on specific criteria such as Question types, Complexity level, Classification, Score limit, Time required to answer, Hide, Secure, Modified date, etc. Questions of 1.2 and 2.0 versions of IMS, QTI from other learning objects can be Imported and Exported as well. Item Authoring application allows Meta data tagging for questions which includes QTI Metadata, General, Life-cycle, Meta-metadata, Technical, Educational, Rights, Relation, Annotation and Classification of associated learning objects or resource. Tutors/ Instructors can pick and choose from a vast array of 25 question types of 1.2 and 2.0 specifications of IMS to stimulate participant’s knowledge. Matrix, Matching, Essay style questions, Fill in the blanks static, Multiple choice static, Multiple response static, True or False, Hotspot, Drag and drop are among other question types. Item Authoring is a powerful application for creating question types that will serve to educate users quickly, easily and effectively. Item Authoring application displays appropriate messages in the respective screens to help users accomplish the coveted activity.
